What makes you unique?
Most business owners I talk to you, state that what makes them unique is either quality or service. Sometimes its both quality and service.
The reality today is pretty much every business that has customers provides quality products and quality service. They might not all be top notch, but they are good enough to keep their customers happy.
Take some time to think about your potential customers. Most of your potential customers are buying from someone else. It's pretty rare that a business owns more than 50% of market share.
If you do have over 50% market share, give me a call I would love to discuss how you did it.
But for most of us, the vast majority of our potential customers are buying from someone else. So the questions becomes, how do we lure them away. I can guarantee you it is not purely on service and/or quality.
Quality and service are absolutely necessary and they have become the baseline for doing business in most industries. You are going to need both of these to keep your current customers, but if you are going to gain more customers you have to separate yourself from the pack.
How?
There are quite a few different ways to set yourself apart and each company is different. Each approach to setting yourself apart is different. This is where 4t can help you.
First a few examples:
If you sell men's clothing, do you have the best return policy or custom tailoring?
If you do tile work, can you turn estimates faster than your competition?
Here are some questions you can ask to help determine where you should start:
What do you do different than your competition?
What makes your product or service unique?
What are your potential customers not getting from your competition?
Finally...
How are you going to let them know?
